UltraHPQ operates the Sugarbag quartz deposit in Queensland Australia with a reserve volume of over 1.2 million tonnes. Quartz from this deposit has already been independently tested and validated by Anzaplan, Germany, as ultra high purity quartz sand and as being suitable for use in the manufacture of high quality Czochralski quartz crucibles for the solar (PV) industry, and for other high quality quartz glass applications. Today, supply for these applications is dominated by material sourced in Spruce Pine, USA.
UltraHPQ is progressing rapidly with the design and funding of its Ultra High Purity Quartz Sand manufacturing facility which will be built at the Lansdown Eco-Industrial Precinct at Townsville in Queensland, Australia. The Ultra High Purity Quartz Sand facility will process quartz from the Sugarbag deposit. The Detailed Feasibility Study for the Ultra High Purity Quartz Sand facility is already underway, following completion of the Preliminary Feasibility Study in Q4 2024. The Final Investment Decision is expected by the end of 2026 with production commencing in Q2 2028.
